“Pi, you’re my best friend, but so is Kame. If you hurt him, I’m gonna beat the shit out of you.”
Those words continued to ring in Yamapi’s head as he made his way to Kame’s house after lunch with Jin. Even though the baka had said it with a smile on his face, as if he was only joking, Yamapi could tell that Jin was probably dead serious. After all, ever since the beginning, Jin practically adopted Kame as his little brother, and even though those two weren’t as close as they were before, they still shared a special bond. Yamapi couldn’t help but feel paranoid though, thinking that maybe Jin had more than friendly feelings towards Kame and vice versa. And even after Kame assured him that Jin and him were not involved romantically, Yamapi still couldn’t feel at ease.
His paranoia led him to drag Jin to lunch so that he could tell Jin about his relationship with Kame. The two had decided to keep it quiet to be safe, but the need to let Jin know that he was Kame’s ichiban, not Jin, made Yamapi leak out the secret. Yet, Jin wasn’t surprised at all. In fact, it almost seemed like Jin already knew, and was merely trying very hard to look surprise for Yamapi’s sake. This only made Yamapi even more paranoid, thinking that maybe Kame had already told Jin, but told the latter not to let Yamapi know.
“Pi, you’re here.” Kame had greeted him at the door. Yamapi leaned in, wanting to give the other boy a kiss, as if to mark his territory, but to his annoyance, he was pushed away. “Not now.” Kame said.
Nodding reluctantly, Yamapi followed Kame into the house and up to Kame’s room, keeping silent the whole time. He plopped himself on Kame’s bed as the latter closed the door behind him.
“What’s wrong?” Kame asked as he joined Yamapi on the bed, leaning his head on the latter’s stomach. “What happened?”
“Kazuya…” Yamapi’s fingers started playing with Kame’s hair. “You told Jin didn’t you?”
“Eh?”
“Otherwise, how would he know about us?” Yamapi continued to probe, even though he knew this might have given himself away a bit.
“Ah, I didn’t really tell him. It’s more like, he asked me.”
“Asked you?”
“Yeah, he asked me what was going on between me and you.”
“And you told him?”
“Nah, I just pretended that I didn’t understand what he was asking and he didn’t probe any further.” Kame said. “We agreed to keep things hush-hush after all.”
Yamapi felt a little guilty, but then again, Jin already had his suspicions, so it didn’t make that much of a difference. But Jin’s words continued to ring in his head. “Kazuya, do you think that baka has feelings for you?”
Kame laughed. “Why would you think so? Jin has a girlfriend.”
“But that doesn’t rule out the possibility that he’s bisexual.” Yamapi countered. “Hey, that guy’s first thought when he won Jr Fight was to announce that he was bringing you along to Okinawa.”
“So?”
“So…”
Kame lifted his head to look at Yamapi. “I love you.”
Yamapi smiled at Kame’s assurance, though he felt another pang of guilt. He never did say those words to Kame. To be honest, he thought that Kame would have thrown him out of the house after saying that he wanted Kame, and wanted to be Kame’s ichiban, but wasn’t sure if he loved Kame or not. Yamapi felt a sudden need to apologise.
“Kazuya… gomen.”
“Eh? What are you apologising for?”
“Because I haven’t said those words to you.” Yamapi explained. “I… It’s not that I don’t have any feelings for you and that I just want to have sex with you or something you know. It’s just that, I don’t believe that I should say those words if I can’t be hundred percent sure. No, make that two hundred percent. I don’t want to say it and then break your heart if I ever have a change of heart. Not saying that I’ll definitely have a change of heart. Argh, I’m starting to ramble.”
Kame laughed, a bright smile on his face, the one that often made Yamapi forget to breathe. He momentarily forgot what he was saying. “Ah, don’t laugh.”
“I can’t help it. You’re just so cute.” Kame said, kissing Yamapi on the lips as he moved to sit on Yamapi’s lap.
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Why would you?” Kame looked at Yamapi, head tilted. He placed his head on Yamapi’s chest, whispering softly. “It’s okay that you don’t say that you love me. Those are only words. What’s more important is what you feel here.”
“Kazuya…”
“Anyway, even though you don’t say it, I know that you really, really, really, really, really love me. And that’s all that matters.”
“What makes you so sure?” Yamapi raised an eyebrow, a smile lingering on his lips.
“Because of Aretha Franklin.”
“Aretha Franklin?”
“Yeah, you know, that song she sang… what was the title?” Kame grinned, before starting to hum the tune. “Oh, I remember now, it’s called ‘It’s In His Kiss’.”
Yamapi laughed as he turned so that he was now on top of Kame. “Does that mean that everytime you say that you love me, I just need to reply by kissing you?”
“Hmmm… I guess that would be a fair reward.”
Yamapi smiled as he leaned in to kiss those soft, luscious lips, wishing that they could just stay like that forever.
“I love you.”
“You should say that more often.”

Geez, took me ages to finally find the time and read your fic ;__; having visitors for a longer time sure is has its disadvantages at times ^^;
