Title: Futari
Series: Kiss
Pairing: Yamapi x Kame
Author: J
Date: 07.08.2005
Notes: If I can think of a better ending, I’ll change it.
The two stood waiting at the train station, waiting for their friend’s arrival. Jin had asked both of them out to go fishing. Why fishing, they didn’t know, and didn’t bother to ask, because Jin did what he liked, and there was never a need for a reason. But they had been waiting for almost an hour, and Jin was still nowhere in sight. Suddenly, one of their cellphones rang. By the end of the call, both boys were annoyed. Because Jin did what he liked, and he didn’t feel like going fishing anymore.
They looked at the fishing gear they had brought along, ones that they borrowed from Tsuyoshi specially for this trip. They wondered why they even bothered coming. It wasn’t as if they liked fishing, and wasn’t really interested in it either. But the strange thing about the both of them was, when Jin wanted to do something, they often just went along with it. Since they were already prepared and ready to go, and they didn’t have anything else to do either, they didn’t see why they shouldn’t go ahead with the fishing trip without their wilful friend.
Asking people to go out with him and then changing his mind at the last minute wasn’t exactly something new when it came to Jin. Yet, it was odd that despite all those times, it was the first time in a long while that Yamapi and Kame actually hung out without him around. Yamapi pointed it out to Kame.
“Oh, is it?” Kame replied, not appearing at all surprised by this discovery. After all, he had always kept count of the number of times he got to hang out with Yamapi alone compared to the number of times Jin got to hang out with Yamapi without him there.
Silence and fishing seemed to go hand in hand, as both boys sat side by side, bored to death, yet neither willing to take the initiative to start a conversation. Yamapi wondered why it seemed so difficult for them to talk that day, considering that they never had that problem. Maybe it had to do with the fishing. Just then, he felt a tug on his fishing line. Being the first to catch a fish must have kicked start the competitiveness in Kame, as the younger boy put on a determined look, staring into the water as if his death glare would aid him in catching more fish.
Yamapi laughed.
“What are you laughing at?” Kame turned towards him for a split second, before concentrating on fishing again.
“It’s just that Kame looks so cute when he’s concentrating on trying to catch a fish.” Yamapi chuckled.
Kame ignored him, even if his own heart might have skipped a beat. He hoped his face wasn’t red… at most he would claim the weather was so hot he was burning. They both fell silent again, staring aimlessly into the water. Bored, Kame glanced slightly at the other boy. At that very same moment, Yamapi turned towards him, and their eyes made contact. Yamapi grinned. Kame looked away quickly.
“Ne Kame.” Yamapi started, as he edged closer to the other boy. “I think we can see the sun set from here.”
“Ah!” Kame’s eyes widened. “That means we have to go back soon. And I haven’t caught a single fish.” He said, disappointed that he had lost the ‘competition’, though deep down, he was also sad that it meant their ‘date’ was going to end.
Seeing the look on Kame’s face, Yamapi smiled in amusement. He wondered what Kame would do if he was to kiss him right then. As he moved closer, his face only inches away from Kame’s cheek, the latter suddenly jumped up in excitement.
“Yatta!” Kame exclaimed victoriously as he showed Yamapi the fish he caught, even if it meant that they were actually tied and there was no winner. At that moment though, Yamapi felt like he had just lost out to a dead fish.
“Guess we’ll be having fish for dinner tonight.” Kame remarked as they started packing up. He paused for a while, before continuing. “Yamapi, wanna come over to my house for dinner tonight?”
Yamapi looked up. Kame was waiting for his answer, a look of eagerness on his face. Yamapi decided then that he could never get tired of looking at Kame, what with the latter’s many different expressions. “Yeah sure.” Yamapi nodded in reply. When he saw Kame smile, he instinctively reached out and pulled Kame towards him, kissing the latter’s soft lips.
Kame was taken aback, but at least he didn’t look disgusted or angry. Yamapi took it as a good sign, and winked. “Let’s do this again another time, shall we?”

Html hates me, I can tell!! ;___;
Anyway, I just wantd to tell you in about 29 247 other ways how much I liked this fic! *laughs*
It made my all hyper and bouncy, how am I supposed to sleep now?? XD” (well, who cares about sleep if you can have some PiKame-love? ^.^~)
Hm, wonder if I can skip that chapter now that you’ve written such a beautiful fic for it *_______*
Did I mention I love you for this? ♥
^____________^
@AISHITERU
Geez, took me ages to finally find the time and read your fic ;__; having visitors for a longer time sure is has its disadvantages at times ^^;
First off: I’m so happy you decided to write another chapter after all…. Seems like your muses have been bugging you enough, even without my help ;p
Keke, I can’t get enough of jealous!Pi… it’s so adorable ^.^
It’s also so cute, how he doesn’t want to hurt Kame by saying he loves him, if he isn’t completely sure about it. But if he ever were to change his mind about his feelings for Kame, I’ll hunt him down personally! >>”
Anyway, I hope your muses are still wide-awake *kicks Pi-muse if he’s asleep again* so that you can continue writing the other fics, now that this one is finished…. or just write even more to this one ^.~
(Nooo, I’m not demanding *coughs*)
“At that moment though, Yamapi felt like he had just lost out to a dead fish.”
The first thing I thought of was ‘the mental superior.’ I’m indebted to you for that.
Thank you ~
