Chapter Ten Point Five (Tsubasa hinting at Sho to take action.)
“TSUBA-CHAN!” Sho bounced over to the table where Tsubasa and Taki were sitting, placed his tray of food down before proceeding to glomp his ‘favourite senpai’.
“Are you sure it’s alright for you to be doing this all the time?” Tsubasa asked.
“Eh? You mean glomping Tsuba-chan? But Taki doesn’t mind.”
“Hey, that doesn’t mean you can take advantage of my kindness.” Taki said in a mock warning tone, all the while smiling.
“Hai hai!”
“And that’s why you always get wrongly accused of being a ‘third party’.” Tsubasa added.
“Eh? You mean those stupid rumours? Ah, you know I don’t give a damn about them, Tsuba-chan. Taki, you don’t think I’m a third party do you?”
“Maybe I do.”
“Hey!”
“Ne, Sho-kun, how’s Nino?” Tsubasa suddenly asked.
“Nino? Eh, why are you asking me? I last saw him on Friday. Didn’t you see him over the weekend? Did something happen to Nino?” Sho asked, concerned.
“Ah, yeah, I forgot, baseball with Taichi and the rest.” Tsubasa grinned stupidly. “Er, Nino daijoubu. Eh… Sho-kun, y’know, it’s never nice to be a bench warmer and always watching from the sidelines.”
“Are?”
“Tsuba-chan, I think you’re telling the wrong person that. Sho’s never a bench warmer, he’s always a first-teamer.” Taki corrected.
“What I’m trying to say is… Well, say you were walking on the street and you passed by this shop window and you saw this awesome pair of shoes, but they cost a hell lot. It’s not that you can’t afford it, but it’s really expensive, and you’ll be forgoing all the other things if you bought the shoes.”
“Eh, Tsuba-chan, are you still angry with me for not buying you that pair of shoes that you saw Kame-kun wearing?” Taki interrupted. “But I thought you were alright with it after Kame bought them for you anyway.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m pissed off with you. Urusai na.”
Taki sulked as Sho scratched his head. “Ne, what does Taki not buying shoes for you got anything to do with me?”
“That’s not what I’m trying to say. What I meant was, well, you should still buy the shoes! Because if you don’t, then somebody else will buy them. And what if it’s the one and only pair? Then you can never get them anymore!”
“Huh?” Sho looked at his own pair of shoes, confused. “But I’m perfectly happy with the shoes I have now.”
Tsubasa rubbed his temple. “I’m not literally talking about shoes. It’s an analogy. An ANALOGY. Like Sho doesn’t play baseball but he might wanna buy himself the expensive glove anyway. Argh, now I don’t even know what I’m saying. Forget it.”
“Baseball glove?”
“Yeah, Sho-kun doesn’t play baseball. It’s only you, Koichi, Taichi, Kame, Nino and the others who play.” Taki said, counting the names off his fingers. “Although it’s true that though I don’t really play, I still pay for all your expensive baseball stuff.”
“Exactly!” Tsubasa exclaimed as he glomped Taki, who grinned blissfully. “Sho-kun, do you get it? You get it right?” Tsubasa prompted as Sho appeared to have put two and two together.
“Ah, sou.” Sho muttered, deep in thought.
“I still don’t get it.” Taki stated.
“It’s ok, Taki. It’s nothing to do with you anyway.” Tsubasa waved his spoon dismissively.
“Eh?!”

Konnichiwa..i’ve read the whole fic already and I have to say that I am impressed. I love your writing style a lot and the pairing is refreshing. The way the everyone was portrayed in here is great and makes the story smooth going. Keep up with the good work. Ganbatte XD
P.S I luv Kame-kun lol Of course I love others as well. They are so cute but if possible could you finish the sequel. I’m so excited
